Dear student,
Although I am a freshman in college, I have been teaching my peers and younger kids for over four years. Because of my age, my thinking may be akin to the student's thus I may able to use his/her point of view on different problems. Additionally, my teach method fits with the student's mindset very well. I am fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English as I teach subjects in these two areas.
For Chinese, I focus heavily on writing and origins of Chinese characters. I believe they are the foundation of Chinese culture and very important in learning the language. In fact, using these origin "roots" can accerlate the learning process dramatically. As for SAT Reading and Writing, I received a 780 and a 750 respectively on the actual SAT exam. As a science major, I am strong critical thinking that is essential in the reading comprehension section of the test. I tend to teach students how to look for "key words" in order to get the big picture more efficiently.
Best Wishes,
Howard C.
