As an upper semester student at Berklee College of Music, I've had a lot of experience not only writing music, but teaching others to write and understand music. I have years of experience teaching one-on-one, as well as in groups. I've also studied voice for many years, and have lots of experience performing both traditional music as well as popular music.
In my point of view, learning must be fun. If you don't enjoy what you're doing, it's not going to be productive, or at least not nearly as productive as it could be. So I work hard to make sure that lessons are not only productive, but thoroughly enjoyable. Especially in music, it's got to be fun.
I've also spent quite a bit of time volunteering with elementary school aged children, teaching reading skills, study skills, music, etc.
