My name is Kip. I have completed my graduate program in Clinical-Community Psychology at the University of South Carolina, and I am now interning at Boston Medical Center. I have completed my dissertation, a program evaluation on a school-based intervention for at-risk high school youth. I have taught several classes in psychology, but I really enjoy teaching beginner-level statistics and APA writing skills. I have presented at conferences across the country, so I have expertise in designing posters that stand out. I also have experience teaching and mentoring elementary and middle school age kids.
I would describe my tutoring style as a three-part process. First, I try to listen as much as possible to what the client's needs are. I want to hear what they feel strong about, where they need help, and what they need to think out loud. Second, I repeat back what I have heard to make sure we are on the same page. This gives me a chance to brainstorm on how I can use use what I know to assist. Finally, together, we discuss how I can help. I am confident I have a broad set of skills that my clients find helpful.
I look forward to meeting with you soon!
