Hello! I am a 22 year old recent graduate of Boston University, where I studied Economics and Pre-Medicine. I hail from the seaside state of Maryland, but have been living in the Boston area since 2007, when I moved up here for college. I consider myself a lively, entertaining person, who loves to laugh and tell jokes, and who highly enjoys interacting with people.
I started tutoring at the age of 15, when I landed the opportunity to help prepare Bar and Bat Mitzvah students for their upcoming milestones. Many students needed help with Hebrew reading and pronunciation skills, as well as with overcoming the natural fear of public speaking.
Throughout High School, I maintained excellent marks in all subject areas of math, and found myself frequently assisting my fellow peers with the material. While not an official tutor, I found working with my classmates to help them understand the material to be a very rewarding experience.
I currently work part time as a CPR/First Aid Instructor through BU. While on the job, I aim to make sure students master the skills AND enjoy learning to do so.
I am a firm believer in first building a layer of trust and and respect between student and tutor. That level of respect plays a large role in motivating the student to learn from the tutor. I have found this to have a powerful effect on my CPR students as well as on my past Hebrew and Bar Mitzvah students. I draw this philosophy and methodology from personal experience. I have a hard time learning from people I don't enjoy being around. Enjoying learning is the key to success.
I look forward to helping you with your studies!
