I'm sure you are going through a list of tutors right now trying to decide which one to pick. I would like to start by saying that I have been playing drums for as long as I can remember and enjoy teaching as much as I enjoy learning. I also have taught myself how to DJ and produce my own music, and I would love to teach whatever I know in these subjects as well. I am nineteen years old and am currently attending Berklee College of Music on a merit based scholarship. I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you are as passionate about this subject as I am!
If you are looking to learn drums, I have been playing afro-brazilian/afro-cuban percussion since childhood and am also a drumset player. I feel that the best way to learn drums is to play along to music and to play with other musicians, even more than practicing rudiment or rhythms by yourself. Secondly, if you are interested in learning about DJing or Music Production, I am well versed with production programs Reason, Pro-Tools, and Ableton Live. I have been DJing with Serato Scratch Live and a set of Technics Turntables locally for about 3 years now.
