Retired as Professor of History at Florida State University where I was named outstanding undergraduate professor and also awarded the title of Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor. Have taught at The College of William and Mary in Virginia, UMass/Boston, Florida A&M University, and Roxbury Community College. Served as Editor of Publications at the Institute of Early American History and Culture in Virginia and was editor of the Florida State University Press. Have written a book on coming of the American Revolution, several articles on the revolutionary era, and edited books on slavery, the 17th century Chesapeake, and the revolution. Taught ESL for 12 years at the Central Boston YMCA, and GED classes for Catholic Charities in Boston. Presently work as a GED instructor for Jewish Vocational Services in Boston.
