My love for mathematics came from a young age from my parents who are teachers. Since high school, I have had experience tutoring all levels of mathematics from elementary school to college age. I have a a BA in Math, MS in Math education and MS in Applied math. I love teaching and tutoring and feel strongly about not only sharing my passion for the subject but also teaching study skills and guiding students through the path towards higher education. Building strong relationships is also very important to me and I care not only about each of my students' academic issues but also their self-esteem and confidence.

Study Skills

Having been a student with poor study skills when I was younger (in high school/middle school) to then excelling in college and graduate school, I know I can help students study and take notes properly. I love to encourage students and help with study skills and habits and it helps that I have been there in their situation before.

Discrete Math

I took Discrete Math, Combinatorics, and Graph Theory in college and graduate school. I was among the top in the class and very much enjoy these topics.

Differential Equations

I have taught Differential Equations to undergraduate students at Syracuse University.

Actuarial Science

I am proficient in the probability and calculus required for the first actuarial exam (P). I have studied for the first exam and passed it on my first try. I still have the materials from when I took the exam in January 2009.

Linear Algebra

I have taken many levels of Linear Algebra in college and graduate school and have worked using this subject for many years as an engineer.

MATLAB

I was introduced to MATLAB initially in graduate school back in 2004. Since then I have used MATLAB extensively in my job for the past 8 years and would consider myself an expert at this point. I know how to program in many languages and I would put MATLAB at the top of my list in terms of expertise and experience.
