Hello! I have been playing drums since the age of 6 and have performed professionally since the age of 10. I was fortunate enough to attend University of Tampa on a music scholarship and received a degree in music with a concentration in percussion. I can play and teach all styles of music. I love teaching students how to play because I can help them to express themselves through the instrument. I use a system of teaching based on developing the students own sound on the drum set and to become well versed in as many musical settings as possible. I have an incredible amount of experience that has helped me evolve as a teacher through my own trials and tribulations.
I have had some really terrific teachers in English who have given me a strong system of writing. Being able to write well is an essential skill to have for most academic and business environments. I believe I help students' writing by helping them to organize and arrange their thoughts in an effective way.
While attending University of Tampa, in addition to music, through the encouragement of one of my professors, Dr. Terry Parssinen, I took on a second major in History. I worked for two and a half years one on one with Dr. Parssinen and was influenced heavily by his experience and techniques. I have incorporated theses into my tutoring.
My goal is to help each student I work with develop skills to reach their potential.
