Dear Student,
It would be my pleasure to communicate with you about helping you with your tutoring needs. For the last four years I was teaching and studying in Europe. During that time, I received my M.A. in Philosophy. Prior to that I completed my B.A. in Philosophy and Religion in the U.S. while acquiring my credentials. As a teacher and tutor in both the U.S. and Europe for the last five years, I have worked in and out of the classroom, teaching groups and individuals.
I tutor students with a broad range of needs; from business English students, helping them with vocabulary, grammar and presentation skills, to students preparing for the SATs, Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE), Cambridge PET, and other important college entrance exams and essays. I also tutor students in ESL, language arts and literature, as well as various humanities subjects including philosophy, history, art history and cultural studies. Finally, I am an excellent writer and and enjoy helping individuals craft cover letters and resumes as a part of my college and career guidance service. Should you have a need in this area, I would be happy to guide you through the process using my various skills and many years of experience.
I have designed lessons and study plans for students of all ages; middle and high school kids learning a second language, or native speakers hoping to improve their writing and speaking skills. I work methodically, using the student's class material, if necessary, which I supplement with my own exercises, listening and oral expression activities, and text-based material relevant to your needs. I offer a dynamic, interactive, immersion approach, with interesting and fun lessons that lead to positive results for everyone. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Ted F.
