I have completed an MAED/SpEd degree program, as well as finished a practicum within a special needs classroom. The main subjects that I provide instruction for are in Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Math oriented classroom. I have provided 1:1 instruction for students with behavioral, emotional, and developmental delays in the SpEd classrooms.
I am extremely familiar with constructing age and grade-level appropriate lesson and unit plans that are fun AND purposeful, reading, writing, and implementation of an IEP or BIP, and providing testing for specific subject matter to determine grade level.
The time that I have spent within the classroom provided me with in-depth daily contact with students with mild to moderate disabilities. As a SpEd Instructor, one can provide opportunities for a student with disabilities to learn in-depth by adapting to meet situational challenges that arise. I have found that this type of instructional experience is one in which I excel because of the patience, listening, and processes that I adapt to the student's learning.
I genuinely enjoy working with students with special education needs, and this is one of the main reasons that I seek employment within this field. The time and patience necessary to help a child grow and learn are attributes that I pride myself on possessing. Making a difference in their daily lives and helping to provide educational opportunities are my main priorities. I am a compassionate, patient, and older professional that seeks a position where I can assist in such avenues of education, allowing me to help the students with special needs gain access to additional resources.
