Patient Tutor, Knowledgeable in a Variety of Subjects

I recently graduated from a local community college. I have 2 years experience as a tutor in math from Algebra up through Calculus. In this same time frame I have also worked as an Accounting, Reading and Writing, tutor, as well as worked with students to improve their study skills. In order to tutor within the college, I had to receive an A- or above in each subject I tutored. I have helped students who needed one time assistance as well as students who came every week. I believe tutors should possess the ability to translate whatever subject they are tutoring into simple every day language which enhances a students learning. I also believe in patience and open communication to encourage learning.

Sign Language

American Sign Language - Basic knowledge of ASL, including facial expressions, grammar, spatial relationship, and ability to work with students to improve their fluidity.

I have taken American Sign Language I at my college, I received high marks on each and every test and assignment. I tutored other students in class to improve their signing as well as their comprehension skills. Final grade was a B-, however that is because I was in the hospital on the day of the final.
