Hi! My name is Mihir M. I am a senior in high school, and have recently been accepted into the College of Engineering at Cornell University. I am a student of math and science, and I'm excited to tutor in math, physics, SAT Prep, and Spanish!
I received the following scores in standardized tests, which are proof of my qualifications: 800 SAT II Math II, 800 SAT I Math, 800 SAT II Physics, 5 AP BC Calculus, 5 AP Physics B, and 5 AP Spanish. I am also currently taking Linear Algebra at Harvard Extension School. I've have also been recognized in the National Merit Scholarship (through PSATs), I have placed as a semifinalist in the Massachusetts Association of Mathematics Leagues Competition, and I was part of the team that won the finalist award at the annual EurekaFest Competition held for high school students at the Museum of Science in Boston, MA.
My previous tutoring experience includes tutoring other high school students in my school in subjects such as physics, Spanish, mathematics, and SAT Prep. I also give trumpet lessons to beginner and intermediate level students. I've been giving these lessons for the past 3 years, and have plenty of experience in tutoring students of all skill levels. My approach to tutoring includes first figuring out a student's specific learning style, and then building off of that in ways that I have experienced myself in my classes and experiences with teachers. For example, everyone is a visual learner to some degree, and so I try incorporate some degree of graphics usage or an online tool to help a student understand the topic. I have experienced many of these techniques firsthand, and I know I can use them to assist any student in their learning process.
