My style of tutoring is based on the Socratic Method where the student is gently guided to the mastery of a topic through a series of step-by-step discoveries and personal realizations. This process allows the students to ultimately gain confidence in their capacity as learners and assume the ownership of their learning process. It is mesmerizing and life-changing for one to become aware of the power of understanding and creativity that resides within oneself as a learner and the art of successful tutoring is but facilitating the students to unleash their own potential to be life-long learners.
I am a Harvard and Brown graduate who overcame major learning challenges while growing-up and I have twenty years of experience in teaching at some of the top institutions in the world (including Phillips Andover and Concord Academy) and sharing my discoveries of the learning process. My approach to education is holistic -providing historical context and anecdotes, encouraging interdisciplinary connections, and utilizing cutting-edge technologies in Mathematics Education (such as Geometer's Sketchpad, Cabri3D, Fathom, SketchUp, Graphing Calculators etc.) to bring the field to life.
