Hello! My name is Tim and I am a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts and Rutgers University. I have degrees in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.), Physics (B.S.), Mathematics (B.S.) and Astronomy (M.S.) with a minor in American History.
I also have certifications in a few programming languages (SQL, Java) with research and teaching experience with scientific computing languages such as MATLAB and Python. In the past I have taught Introduction to Scientific Computing, Introduction to Astronomy, and Introduction to Astrophysics. I have also tutored small groups for many core undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses including end of semester review sessions.
My approach is typically based on a physical understanding and mathematical concepts of the underlying systems. I try to draw parallels to concepts people may understand. While a majority of my teaching experience has been for undergraduate level courses, I do have some experience in assisting students from first grade through middle school.
If you are looking for a tutor for finals in any of the aforementioned subjects, let me know!
