My name is Sihem and I am a senior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with an intended BA in Middle Eastern studies and a Political Science minor. I am originally from Algeria but have lived the majority of my life between my home country and France. With French as my first language and Arabic as my second language I cannot think of a better person to teach these languages to any dedicated student. My experience with French culture makes it possible for me to interact with students in a fun and educative way that brings out the engaging side of learning a language that also gives guaranteed results. I have worked as a tutor throughout my four years in college, helping students with advanced French and Arabic papers and translated essays. I also worked for a full semester as a tutor for various subjects at North Star: Self Directed Learning for Teens, an alternative school for middle and high schoolers who feel challenged in a traditional setting. This job gave me the opportunity to work with young teens using alternative and nontraditional utilities to best fit their learning skills. I have taught myself English for years and understand that learning a new language can be very difficult. I also know that with the right methods and a fun environment, the difficulties of a language can be overcome, and I am the right person for this job.
