Hello, I'm Charles. I have had experience teaching for a very long time. My nephew and my youngest sister were both born when I was 10, so by the time they were old enough to talk and learn things, I was more than happy to teach them. When other children had bedtime stories, they usually had bedtime "Ask Charles how things work." I've always loved teaching and the thrill of the moment when someone really understands something they didn't before is amazing. I have tutored pre-high school students before and helped out by TA'ing in college, usually in biology and philosophy classes. My academic interests are mainly related to philosophy and biology. I hope we can work together and learn from one another sometime soon.

Zoology

My college studies are primarily in the field of animal biology and behavior. I have acted as my advisor's field assistant for two years, mostly by performing field observations of animals. I recently returned from a trip to Madagascar in which I did field studies on lemurs. I have a very strong background in zoology, most especially animal behavior and ecology.

Public Speaking

I attend an alternative college, in which one never takes tests. As such, every single course I have taken (now numbering 31) has involved giving an academic presentation. Beyond that I was captain of the debate team in high school, and among the strongest debaters in my district (Greater New Haven area in Connecticut).

Logic

I fulfill the requirements for a Logic certification from the Five-Colleges. My first major was in logic, and my training was largely in philosophy. I have taken many courses in first order logic, mathematical logic, and philosophy which ought make me qualified to teach logic.
