Rob tutored my daughter this summer in SAT math. He was a great communicator and flexible with the schedule. He was on time, patient and knowledgeable. I also received a brief of the lesson via email on the same day. I would highly recommend Rob.
Rob is a wonderful tutor. He is very patient and enthusiastic and has helped my daughter's confidence in an area where she has traditionally struggled. He is always delivering a 5 star rating.
Rob is an excellent teacher. I will be using him again next semester for Quantitative Analysis. I will be contacting WyzAnt again!
I met with Rob for a lesson on how to conduct an independent t-test on two samples (baseline and end-line samples from questionnaire). Rob was incredibly astute in preparing the data and explaining how to run the correct tests in order to retrieve the information that I needed.
Rob has great mix of skills -- easy going manner combined with very sharp mind and laser like ability to hone in on the heat of the lesson.
I wholeheartedly recommend Rob N as a tutor!
Update: On my second lesson with Rob, we reviewed ways to explore the influence of intervening (controlling) variables on dependent variables in responses on baseline and end-line questionnaires. Rob's clear teaching ability made learning the lesson organized and understandable. Truly a magnificent teacher!
Update: My third season with Rob was the clincher. He helped me to learn how to interpret my data and to present the findings in a clear, cohesive manner, paying attention to the difference between substantive change and statistical change in baseline and end-line findings. I will long be grateful for Rob's ability to work with statistics and SPSS. I highly recommend him as a great tutor!
Rob, thank you for meeting with me, you literally saved the day! You were knowledgeable in the subject and knew exactly what to say and explain it in a way I was able to understand. I am a visual learner and you covered all grounds by explaining and showing me what and how to go about in completing my assignment. Looking back at the notes you left me, I can honestly say that I am a lot more confident then I ever was before. Thank you again for your patience and understanding yesterday. You were great!
He is an excellent tutor for SPSS. I find him going at the pace the student is on; and very informative. He knows his stuff. He left me knowing enough to get "dangerous" with SPSS.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have experience teaching and tutoring students for standardized tests, including the ACT, SAT I and SAT II math subject tests. I teach test taking strategies and have my students take multiple practice exams in order to employ the techniques and get used to the types of problems that they will likely encounter.
I have experience teaching both AP and Honors level calculus.
I taught mathematics for over twelve years, including AP calculus where we introduced differential equations. In college, I earned a grade of A in my differential equations class. In graduate school, I learned how to better explain complex mathematical concepts. I have the patience and experience to help explain high level mathematics like differential equations.
I have taught Discrete Math at the high school level, including topics like:
Circuits and Loops
I have taught and tutored high school geometry and geometry skills.
I can tutor for the quantitative section, and general standardized test taking strategies that should help you with the other sections.
I can teach you strategies for standardized test taking, and will help with any math questions.
I was a full-time math teacher for twelve years. I have taught linear systems of equations, including using matrices to solve them. I am familiar with optimization techniques using linear algebra, as I took a linear algebra course at RPI.
I have 12 years teaching high school mathematics as a licensed teacher. I worked for the Princeton Review after graduating from college. I have tutored and taught test taking strategies for 23 years. The math portion of this exam is very similar to the subjects for which I am presently certified through WyzAnt.
I have taught precalculus at both the college prep and honors level.
I have experience teaching and tutoring SAT preparation. I show students how to eliminate incorrect answers, as well as ways to check that they have selected the correct answer. I have my students take many practice exams and work on strategies for improving their score.
I worked for the Princeton Review after graduating from college, and learned how to teach their test taking strategies for standardized tests like the SSAT.
I have taught both AP and college prep statistics classes.
I am an experienced standardized test tutor with a strong math and probability background. I can provide tutoring for the math section of the TEAS. I will also teach you some techniques for taking standardized tests like the TEAS.
I have taught trigonometry for many years at the high school level.
