I'm currently a graduate student at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry earning my Master of Theological Studies. I graduated with honors (Most Outstanding Religious Studies Major, Magna cum laude, honors college diploma) in Spring of 2013 with my BA in philosophy and religious studies from the University of Toledo in Ohio.

At UT, I worked for a year as a general humanities tutor and for two years as a tutor in UT's Writing Center. I also worked for a year as the opinion editor of The Independent Collegian, the newspaper serving UT, and sat on the editorial board of UT's Journal of Undergraduate Research. I also worked for a company called Ritter and Associates in Maumee, OH, as an editor for quality control.

During my time at UT I did a fair amount of independent research and research for my professors in the areas of philosophy of religion and theology. I also worked for a year as a theological librarian and for three years as a student research assistant in the Ward M. Canaday Center for Research and Special Collections.

Currently, while I am pursue my Master's, I am writing for the National Catholic Reporter and sit on the editorial board of the graduate student theology journal Lumen et Vita. I also work in the Connors Family Learning Center at Boston College as a writing, theology and philosophy tutor.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Logic

I have a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and religious studies, for which I was required to study symbolic logic and employ logic throughout my studies. I spent a semester studying the 20th century analytic philosophers and their beliefs in logical positivism and verification theory.

Religion

I have a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and religious studies and graduated with honors in the latter. I received an award for being the most outstanding religious studies major. I have worked for the University of Toledo Center for Religious Understanding and have conducted a number of research projects on topics in religion.
