Hi! I'm an experienced tutor in Latin, English, and the SAT I, and I absolutely love working with young people. I am currently working toward my Masters in Teaching for Latin at Boston University, where I study a combination of graduate Latin courses and educational methodology. I earned my BA at Brown University in Classics with a focus in Latin, graduating magna cum laude and phi beta kappa in 2010. During my time there, I tutored and taught in several diverse settings and had the opportunity to study abroad in Rome.
Between undergraduate and graduate study, I taught middle and high school Latin, English, and world history at a private school in Los Angeles and tutored English and Latin in the evenings. I also taught English as a foreign language for one year in Thailand through a Fulbright Scholarship. Prior to that, I taught all three sections of the general SAT through a test preparation company and AP Latin at a private school in Providence, RI.
I love language and the classics, and I consider myself a lifelong learner. Teaching for me is the perfect intersection of my academic passions and my dedication to education. I find tutoring extremely rewarding because I can tailor my instruction to the level and learning style of the individual student and develop a strong working relationship. Teaching and learning should be satisfying, interesting, and fun - I look forward to working with you!
