Hey folks,

I'd love to help tutor students with high school and early college math including, but not limited to algebra, trigonometry, and Calculus. Those are really my strong suits. I believe that all math is visual even if it doesn't seem like it; and my goal is to try to give you that visual framework which you can reference when solving problems. Patience and an understanding of what each student needs and potentially needs are key. I think it's important to first do a little consultation to see where you are and what you are trying to achieve with a particular math subject. We can go at any pace that you would like and go over the same thing again and again if you wish. I'm kinda like Burger King for math: your way right away.
My educational background consists of a B.S. in math from LSU (geaux Tigers)and an MBA from Tulane.

Algebra 2

Here are a few topics that we can work on
-finding roots using the quadratic formula or by factoring
-completing the square
-quadratic equations w/ complex roots
-working with parabolas, ellipses, & hyperbolas
-binomial expansion using the binomial theorem

And anything else that's algebra 2. Algebra is algebra to me and I'm not sure of the distinction between algebra 1 & 2.

Calculus

Limits and using the limit definition of a derivative. derivatives using the product rule, quotient rule, chain rule, etc. Indefinite and definite integrals. Finding horizontal and vertical asymptotes. solving word problems using derivatives and integrals. explicit and implicit differentiation. Determining the differentiability of a function.

Trigonometry

Students probably have most problems using trig. identities in proofs. Therefore, we can start with that.
We can also work on topics like solving right triangle sides and angles using trig ratios, functions, Pythagorean identities, etc.
And if your class is solving functions involving polar or parametric coordinates, we can go over those too.
