It seems like I've been helping children learn since I was a kid myself!
As a highschooler, I taught Sunday School at church to preschoolers. I loved figuring out how each child thought, and appreciated the unique ways they processed information.
This planted a fire in me, and 4 years later I was a graduate from Northeast Louisiana University in Elementary Education. Over the next 10 years or so, I enjoyed teaching and tutoring kids at the elementary level.
There seemed to be no end to the new experiences, and sometimes I think I learned even more than the students!!
I worked as an elementary school teacher for about a decade before having my oldest daughter. I then became a stay-at-home mom and later had my second daughter. In order to take care of their needs and be home more, I have chosen to work part-time and haven't yet returned to become a full time teacher.
I would love the opportunity to work with your Elementary child (1st-4th) in the areas of Math or Language. The first lessons, I will be analyzing your child's responses to questions to determine how he/she learns. I then will be able to use specific techniques to help the information "stick". I will be glad to help with homework and tests. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your child!
