I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1994 with a bachelor degree in accounting, and I received my master degree in accounting from Southern University in 1995. I have tutored children in elementary mathematics for over 20 years. I also worked as a substitute teacher for the parishes of St. Landry and East Baton Rouge. Currently, I am an auditor with the La. Dept. of Insurance, where I have employed there for 13.5 years.
I was instrumental in organizing the Leap Partnership, which is coalition of educators, parents, and concerned citizens, whose sole purpose is to prepare 4th and 8th graders for the Leap Test. This organization was founded in Lafayette, La. in 2004, and there has been over 150 students who have participated in the program. In addition, I have coached youth soccer for the last seven years.
I am very patient, and I make sure the student thoroughly understands a topic before moving on. I motivate the student to succeed and teach good study skills and test-taking skills. Normally, I use the student's textbooks and classroom materials during our lessons. Students do best when they are encouraged and receive positive feedback.
The following is a list of subjects I tutor: Elementary Mathematics, Elementary Algebra, Accounting, and Soccer.
