Special Holiday rates available now thru late December!! Bottom line: I get breakthrough results FAST! My last ACT students who took the April 2014 test clearly prove my point: (1) a football player from Solon improved his math & science scores from 23 & 24 to a 33 & a perfect 36! and (2) a junior soccer player from Aurora went from a 22 to a 29 composite (after only 5, 1-hour sessions & only limited practice). So get on the FASTrack & take a turbo test-drive today!

I achieved a perfect score on the math sections of the ACT, SAT, & GRE, plus a 4.0 GPA in chemical engineering, so I was awarded National Science Foundation and Tau Beta Pi National engineering fellowships for graduate school, where I completed a MS in biochemistry from Case Western Reserve U. I've coached students from coast to coast (D.C., L.A., N.Y.C., Phoenix, Boston, etc), and in subjects ranging from 3rd grade Math Olympiad competitors all the way to accelerated college calculus & chemistry students. I taught physics and meteorology at a private San Diego college, and am an adjunct professor for two Christian colleges in Phoenix. I am excited to spark all of you math and science students yearning to break FREE into the LIGHT of understanding.

I am a FUN and FOCUSED facilitator of learning for talented young minds wanting to achieve new levels of insight. My goal is to move my students and their parents past surface knowledge to deep understanding and mastery of subjects. I also believe each person has a specially designed purpose, and I seek to motivate their journey to discovering it!

Achieving success in learning science and math is much like excelling in track and field. When I was in high school, I participated in high jump and long jump, and the KEY to clearing the bar and soaring to new distances was all in a disciplined, methodical, and practiced approach, coupled with the bold confidence and energetic enthusiasm instilled by my coach!

I'm asking you to give me the privilege of being your academic and career coach now. So let's get started!

Often teachers, even good ones, have to focus so much on lecturing over broad topics that they don't have time to FOCUS on each student's areas of strength and weakness so that they can pinpoint areas they're stuck and help them over their specific hurdles.

When I tutor in math/science, I observe where a student is stuck, ask them probing questions that don't "give away" they answer so they have to wrestle with and attempt to integrate various pieces of what they've learned in class. Once they know the fundamentals and my "tricks of the trade," they can derive the solution to more advanced and complex problems by breaking them down methodically.

I have been tutoring my classmates, especially in match and science, all through school starting with 1st grade! Maybe that's because God graciously gave me a gift with numbers from an early age. In fact, I wrote the numbers from 1 to 4,436 when I was three years old!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I achieved a perfect score on the ACT Math test, PLUS I can teach you how to analyze problems quickly for yourself. I have relevant tutoring experience in algebra, trigonometry, and calculus.

My last ACT Math student achieved a 10-point increase after just 5 sessions with me & faithful practice in between.

Work with me and you'll soon be on the FAST track to Math mastery!

ACT Science

I can take you from Confused to Confident with only 2-4 sessions!

Wise Strategies designed around your individual strengths, practiced faithfully, & executed on-the-fly with focused Time Management consistently yields 3-6 point JUMPS for my clients! Don't let those oh-so-sneaky test-makers throw your Science score under the bus.

Work with me on new strategies for prioritizing & attacking the Science section, and you'll be extremely pleased with your results!

Algebra 1

Algebra is the KEY building-block skill that opens the door for success in pre-calculus, calculus, & all equation-based sciences. I achieved a perfect score on the ACT, SAT, & GRE Math tests, but ONLY AFTER I overcame the challenging hurdle of mastering algebra. I know ALL the common places students get stuck and can help you overcome!

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 introduces some non-intuitive concepts such as logarithms, coordinate geometry with function graphs, imaginary numbers, absolute values, & complex polynomials. Algebra is the KEY building-block skill that opens the door for success in calculus, & all equation-based sciences.

My systematic approach with proven tips will lead you to breakthrough. I achieved a perfect score on the ACT, SAT, & GRE Math tests, but ONLY AFTER I overcame the challenging hurdle of mastering algebra.

Contact me for steady help or "crisis intervention"!

Chemistry

I graduated with a 4.0 GPA in Chemical Engineering (undergrad) and Chemistry/Biochemistry (graduate school), so I can help you with General, Physical, Biochemistry, Biophysical, and Inorganic classes. Once you master the fundamentals Math, Geometry, & Trigonometry, you will quickly catapult to a new level.

The only chemistry I don't tutor is organic.

Elementary Math

I absolutely LOVE to tutor elementary school kids in math, & they love me because I'm creative & fun-loving. Ask me about the always-smash-hit, "Skittles Math"!

I currently have a 1st & 3rd grader who I've helped progress over the last 3 months from being behind their Montessori classmates, to being ahead by 1/2 grade level. Their parents are delighted & we will be continuing through the summer.

MCAT

I completed both the GRE Chemistry & Engineering subject tests, scoring in the 97th percentile. I also have extensive experience tutoring AP & early college level Chemistry & Physics, which are typically the most challenging sections of the MCAT. Finally, I have tutored 3 MCAT students & 1 PCAT student in the past year, and they were well pleased with our tutoring sessions.

Physics

I have taught & tutored college-level physics, both calculus-based and algebra/trigonometry-based. Topics have included force statics & dynamics, kinematics, conservation of energy & momentum, fluid statics & dynamics, LIGHT & optics, electrostatics, thermodynamics, quantum chemistry, & nuclear decay.

Work with me so I can put you on the FAST track to physics success!

SAT Math

I achieved a perfect score on the SAT Math test, PLUS I can teach you how to analyze problems quickly for yourself. I have relevant tutoring experience in algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. Work with me and you'll soon be on the FAST track to Math mastery!

Trigonometry

I recently taught a trigonometry-based physics course at the college level, with students ranging from pre-med to aviation. I also tutored a student who was rusty on his trig and after 1 session he achieved a perfect 100 on his next 2 quizzes!

Work with me and you'll soon be on the FAST track to Math mastery.

My ACT Math/Science Jumped 10+ Points! — I absolutely could not stand the Science or Math sections of the ACT when I was working on them on my own. My scores were great in English and Reading, but Science and Math were weighing me down to the point that I considered just taking the SAT instead. That all changed when I met Professor Mark. It was like he gave me a Rosetta Stone that unlocked ACT Science and broke it down into its most simp ...
