Hi there,

*** I will not be tutoring from September 2013 through May 2015, because I am working on my Master's Degree in European History. I apologize for any inconvenience. I will be returning to tutor after the summer of 2015.***

If you need help comprehending material in a history, Spanish, or writing class, I am qualified to help. Many students finish high school without acquiring strong writing skills and arrive to college at a disadvantage. Writing a strong essay is probably the most difficult task in history courses, in both high schools and universities, because many teachers expect the student to already know how to do it. I'll make sure the student understands how to organize the essay and knows what details to put in or leave out before he or she goes away for school. I have been a writing and history tutor since August 2012, and I tutor mainly high school students grades 8-12. I received my BFA in History in May 2012.

A foreign language can come easily to some people, but very difficultly to others. Sometimes a student needs individual attention in order to fully grasp the language. I have been tutoring Spanish for six years (since 2008), and I am more than able to help in this regard. I took Spanish in high school, college, and I studied abroad in Spain in the summer of 2014. Tutoring sessions are mostly on an individual basis, but I have also tutored groups of three.

I hope to see you soon,
Lee G.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Spanish

If you/the student need help in Spanish or History, I'm the man to help. I took the mandatory three years of a language (Spanish) at Jesuit high school as well as an optional additional year to become even more familiar. I tested out of the first three Spanish level courses at Louisiana State University, and I took Spanish IV to complete my language requirements for my History degree. I technically tested out of Spanish IV as well, but I was required to take it since I went to a Louisiana college from a Louisiana high school. It's a very weird rule. I can read and write Spanish very well, and I work on it everyday by conjugating verbs in my Spanish binder, reviewing the rules of the language, and by tutoring other students outside of WyzAnt. I also listen to language software and talk to Spanish speaking people in order to improve my conversational abilities. I will make learning Spanish exciting for you/the student.

I hope to see you soon.

Hi Sarah,    I just took the GRE this past December 8th, and I agree with Colette. I only had a month to prepare, so I made studying the prep books my 8 hour a day job. For best results, try to work on it about 8 hours a week for 3 months. You'll get a perfect score. And buy...
