ACT English

I have an undergraduate minor in English and upon graduation was certified to teach high school English. I also used my language skills extensively as a legal assistant/secretary in drafting legal documents.

Algebra 1

As a health physics technician in the field of radiological protection, I used algebraic formulas with respect to instrumentation and also with respect to database programs.

Algebra 2

I have to algebraic formulas on a daily basis for several years in my current profession as a Database Specialist, and have often taught these formulas to co-workers.

Bible Studies

As the daughter of a Cumberland Presbyterian minister, I have studied the Bible extensively. I took undergraduate classes in Old Testament and New Testament history, and studied New Testament Greek as a foreign language. I also have experience in teaching the Bible in Sunday School classes, and have studied the Bible as literature.

Clarinet

I played the Clarinet in high school and participated in many upper level performance organizations. As a Music Education major in college and graduate school, I had courses in teaching various instruments, including clarinet.

Composition (Music)

I took several music composition courses in college and graduate school, including orchestration of original compositions and writing fugues. I play the piano and have composed arrangements of various styles of music.

Ear Training

As a part of my Music Education major, I have had extensive ear training. Furthermore, as a student teacher, I have had experience in teaching ear training to high school students.

As a Data Specialist, it has been my responsibility to develop and maintain a comprehensive relational database using Microsoft Access as a “front end” database, with data stored and maintained in MS SQL Server.

I have extensive experience with importing and exporting data in a variety of formats, including Excel and Microsoft Word, so that data from various sources can be compiled and calculated, and the appropriate documents can be generated utilizing this information.

General Music

I played Clarinet in high school and participated in many upper level performance organizations. I have a Masters degree in Music Education, and presently accompany my church choir.

I have extensive experience as a legal assistant and secretary and have been responsible for the development of computer programs for the production of litigation documents and drafting of specialized legal documents, as well as real estate and estate planning documents.

Linear Algebra

As a Data Specialist, I have had extensive experience in utilizing linear algebraic formulas in the development of database programs. This experience includes providing proofs for these formulas, and instructing co-workers in the appropriate application of these formulas.

As a Data Specialist I have extensive experience with Microsoft Windows, and have been responsible for training co-workers in the appropriate use of this application. I am familiar with the latest versions of Microsoft Windows, as well as previous versions.

Microsoft Word

My experience as a legal assistant and secretary included responsibilities for the
development of computer programs for the production of litigation documents and drafting of specialized legal documents, as well as real estate and estate planning documents.

Music Theory

I have a Masters degree in Music Education from Austin Peay State University, and I worked for several years on a Doctorate at North Texas State University.

Piano

I have a Masters degree in Music Education with an emphasis in piano, and attended North Texas State University for several years working on a Doctorate in piano performance. I currently am employed as the pianist at my church, and have participated in several community performances.

Prealgebra

In my professional experience, I frequently use algebraic equations and formulas. I also have experience in teaching the use of these formulas to co-workers.

Proofreading

I have had extensive experience in proofreading as a legal secretary in various areas of law.

Reading

I have an undergraduate minor in English and completed student teaching in freshman and senior high school English.

SAT Reading

I have developed my language skills as a graduate student and as a legal secretary. I have an undergraduate minor in English and upon graduation was certified to teach high school English.

Sight Singing

As a part of my Music Education major, I have had extensive training in sight singing. As a student teacher, I have had experience in teaching sight singing to high school students.

SQL

As a Data Specialist, it has been my responsibility to develop and maintain a comprehensive relational database using Microsoft Access as a “front end” database, with data stored and maintained in MS SQL Server.

Visual Basic

I have extensive experience in writing code in Visual Basic. It has been my responsibility to design Microsoft Access databases containing extremely complex and sophisticated embedded code. Also, I have utilized Visual Basic in designing a Microsoft SQL database with a Microsoft Access database as the "front end" user interface.

Voice (Music)

I have a Masters degree in Music Education. This degree included extensive coursework in vocal instruction and teaching voice lessons. I also worked with choral organizations on both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
