I have a strong background and passion when it comes to working with children and helping to educate them. I have been a substitute teacher for the past six years and I also work at the afterschool childcare program in my town.
Several years ago I was also given the opportunity to be an assistant coach for both the girls basketball and softball teams. I have a Bachelor's degree in Human Services from Lindsey Wilson College and have recently received my teaching certification in Middle grades education, but have yet to find a job in this field. The two areas in which I am certified to teach in are Language Arts and Social Studies.
When I was going through school I knew what it was like to struggle because I was that student. Learning never came easy for me and I always had to work extra hard. But I was strong-willed and was determined to succeed. I believe that with the help and guidance of the right teacher, any student who is struggling can overcome their weaknesses and make learning a fun and enjoyable experience.
When taking a closer look at the purpose of education the answers can be found within ourselves and within the workings and expectations of our nation as a whole. In our society, education exists so that it can play an active role of enlightenment in people's lives and help them to become more capable of leading healthier, happier, more successful lives. A good education plays a strong role in ones individual development, and without it, people would have less insightful ideas and thought patterns.
