I was a past professor for eight years and currently am a third year medical student. If you are having trouble in your pathology, pathophysiology, biology, anatomy and physiology, medical micro or chemistry course, I can help. Any issues in these courses of any level I will be able to successfully assist you; high school, college or professional education. I will specifically make a lesson plan to suit our needs as a team. I have taken courses on proper test writing and taking as well as how to properly put together a curriculum outline for you as a student.
I have taught Anatomy and Physiology for eight years, four of which were spent in Louisville at a private Nursing School, where I taught the lab courses. I also ran the largest anatomy laboratory in the state there. For the last three years I have been through medical school, which is heavy in all levels of anatomy, and know that I have the expertise and teaching skills to help all levels of anatomy students, from high school up to the professional. Let me help you master the anatomical sciences!
I have completed medical school, within the last year. Additionally I took the MCAT prep course before medical school, through Kaplan Medical. I still use those study aids when I teach specific courses. My score was above average and allowed me to be accepted into medical school.
I taught nursing students for four years, preparing them for the NCLEX exam, specific to their curriculum outlines. I have been to many test writing seminars that cover the NCLEX and as coordinator of the general education department at the college, it was my responsibility to poll the students immediately after the exam to ask for input on what we needed to incorporate more into our lectures and what we could eliminate.
I have had a year of organic chemistry both with laboratory courses in my undergraduate course work. Furthermore I have taken advanced organic chemistry at the graduate level as well; earning an A in the course.
My experience with pharmacology comes from one course completed for my undergraduate degree where the course focused on understanding the molecular structure and orientation of drugs, as well as the mechanisms of action of medications, and characteristics of tolerance, sensitivity, therapeutic indices, dependency, withdrawal, and drug interactions. Furthermore, I had a year of courses in medical school. The courses in med school focused on pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic actions of common pharmaceutical preparations. We concentrated on major therapeutic drugs: their absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination; dose-response relationships; efficacy, mechanisms of action; therapeutic uses; drug interactions and toxicity. Furthermore these courses specifically examined the therapeutic uses and effects on clinical disease states using a case-based method. Now in the hospital setting, I use this knowledge and put it to practice when seeing and evaluating patients and their treatment plans.
