I have a masters degree in Civil Engineering and currently work for a financial software company in the role of a database administrator. I have experience in teaching high schoolers several subjects in math including Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus and Calculus. This current semester I am teaching several students from Olathe North High the subject of Calculus and another student from Blue Valley West the subject of Pre-Calculus. I love teaching math and enjoy everything math related.

I realize that students need help with the material that is being covered by their teachers. In order to help my students catch up and stay up to date on their class material, I visit their teachers' school websites and collect information on classroom material and help the student with that knowledge.

I assess a student's knowledge by initially testing the student in the subjects I am assigned to teach by quizzing and testing. I use this assessment in my teaching to gradually bring the student to their potential.

Adding to Andre's answer:   The polynomial x2 -5x +15 is a quadratic and represents a parabola that opens upward and vertex at (2.5, 8.75).  This parabola does cross the x axis, so at no point is y < 0

When an equation in first degree is given in the form y=mx+b then this can immediately be graphed with a slope of m and y intercept of b.  A first degree equation is an equation that does not contain any variables raised to second power or greater.   The given equation is x+y=3...
