I am a senior software developer for an Indianapolis based company with my heaviest study being in java. I also program in C++, C#, and Visual Basic. With java being my best language, I have obtained the java 7 certification to show that I know the language inside and out.

I have over 6 years of programming experience, most of it being self study enrichment, but with the last year and a half being corporate experience. I am the owner of software training company Hooked On Syntax. I can teach most general concepts about computers such as how to use certain software/hardware. I know all Microsoft office products and am able to easily teach how to use how to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

C++

I am currently working towards a degree in computer programming through a local college which means that I know exactly the troubles that you are going through when learning new programming concepts. In my programming classes, many of the students turn to me whenever they are having an issue getting their code to compile and run. I took a programming class in high school and since then I have been picking up programming books to read (including C++) so that I can learn as many languages as possible. If you need any help with C++, send me a message and I will help you!

Computer Programming

I have been doing computer programming for over 2 years. The languages I know best are Java, C++, and Visual Basic. I am well versed in Object Oriented (O-O) concepts. I am almost finished with a degree in computer programming from ivy tech. I have had formal training in Visual Basic, Java, and C++.

Java

I will take you from knowing nothing about java, to writing a program within your first lesson. I begin with writing a program, then going back and describing what each line of code does. If all you need is help learning how to apply a certain feature in java I can also help with that.

Microsoft Access

I have experience creating databases in access. I have also created many queries on the data as well as generating detailed reports based on statistics gathered within the data. I currently use access about once a week in my job for data retrieval purposes.

Microsoft Windows

I have been using Microsoft Windows for over 15 years and I would consider myself an expert in it. I have experience all the way from Windows 95 up to Windows 8. Microsoft Windows is my daily operating system and I would be glad to teach that skill to you as well. I am a computer programmer.

Visual Basic

Visual basic is my first language that I learned for programming and is the easiest for me to teach. I have had multiple classes on this subject. My major in college is computer programming and visual basic is one of the languages that I know. I can take you from beginner to intermediate quickly.
