While the majority of my career was as an auditor and accounting consultant, I am currently utilizing my training and experience as a tutor and substitute teacher. I am currently a licensed substitute teacher for the South Bend Community School Corporation and place emphasis on Math, English Grammar and Reading. It is my belief that mastering these skill sets in the primary grades (K-4) will go a long was to paving the way for an individual's academic and career success. If desired, I will meet with the student's teacher to understand what specific skills or concepts need reinforcement and design a tutorial plan to focus on improvement in the noted areas.

Additionally, I am able to offer assistance to individuals needing help with understanding accounting principles. As a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Fraud Examiner who has served in numerous accounting an audit management positions, I am able to not only explain the principles but provide real-life examples to reinforce understanding of them.

Algebra 1

I was a math major in high school and took several math courses in collage which were helpful in preparing me for an accounting career. Algebra can be interesting (as well as practical and useful) if you have a solid grasp of the principles.

Vocabulary

My professional experience as a CPA and consultant required that my spoken and written thoughts were communicated to result in action. Having a broad vocabulary allowed me to be better understood and it can do the same for you.

Grammar

As a CPA and business professional, use of proper grammar in speech and writing are critical to being taken seriously. I can provide the training necessary to improve grammar.

Microsoft Excel

As a CPA and Internal Auditor, I have used Microsoft Excel spreadsheets extensively to make financial analysis easier and more accurate. I can teach you how Microsoft Excel can be a great help to you.

Geometry

Learning shapes and how to calculate their perimeters and areas using basic geometric equations and principles.

Prealgebra

As a CPA and a math major, I am ready to provide the guidance to introduce basic concepts in Algebra.

Reading

My profession as an auditor and consultant required that I utilize good reading skills. The tools that I use to help in comprehension can also work for you.

Writing

My profession as a CPA and Audit Manager required that I prepare numerous business reports and develop excellent writing habits. I can provide the guidance needed to produce written communications which are clear, concise and descriptive as well as being grammatically correct.

Accounting

I am a CPA who has many years of experience and can tutor in Principles of Accounting, Principles of Auditing, and Cost Accounting.

Spelling

My work as a consultant required much report writing and developing techniques to assure that the credibility of my message wasn't diminished by misspelled words.

Elementary Math

As a mathematics major and as a substitute teacher in primary schools, I offer tutoring in basic math skills which are the foundation for high level math.

I am currently a licensed substitute teacher working in primary schools. I work daily with students on developing habits, which will help them maximize their learning experience. It is my belief that developing good study skills in a students early years, as well as proficiency in reading and basic math skills in primary school is fundamental to success in a student's future educational endeavors.
