I am a recent graduate from Purdue University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Graphics Technology. I am currently working as a freelance artist myself, but I have skills to offer that I feel are not being used to their full potential. My training included programs from the Adobe Suite, like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, as well as Flash, Dreamweaver, HTML, and other scripting and coding languages. During my time at Purdue, I was employed as a Supplemental Instructor and Tutor for the Japanese classes. This employment lasted three years. I also worked with individuals outside of the college program as a private tutor. I have a lot of experience working with students individually and in group settings. I learned quickly that it is important to find out which way a student learns and use that to expand their knowledge. By making associations with what students enjoy, I find that students have a better understanding and enjoyment in learning. For example, one of the students I tutored in Japanese had a love of Japanese graphic novels, so we often did exercises that involved translating existing ones, or even creating his own to help solidify the information we were going over.
