As a columnist for Post-Tribune Newspaper/Chicago Sun-Times Media Group, freelance magazine writer, and radio show host, and public speaker, I’m in the business of connecting people through my writing - through words.
Since 1997, I've won more than 40 state or national awards from various journalism organizations. I also write freelance stories for various national magazines and publications, serve as an advisor for journalism students
at Purdue University Calumet, and completed my first book, as well as hosting two radio shows, on Lakeshore Public Radio, 89.1-FM, and on WVLP,
For the past 15 years, I've written about a rich variety of issues, people, and situations – including the last days of a woman with terminal cancer in a hospice; flying upside down in a U.S. Thunderbirds fighter jet at 9.2 G’s;
visiting New York City’s Ground Zero just days after the terrorist attacks in 2001; witnessing a coroner perform an autopsy; and skydiving out of a plane with a tape recorder in hand.
My aim remains the same: To shine a light on society’s darkest corners and offer a voice to the voiceless.
