I design individualized and highly specialized lesson plans for students which focused upon: organization, time management, vocabulary, reading comprehension, critical thinking skills, and writing. I hold an MA in English as well as a BA in Education. I have been teaching for over 15 years, and have been a private tutor for eight. My main area of expertise is English/ Language Arts; however, I am also able to tutor elementary aged students in all subjects, as well as high school students in History.

Further, I have a successful history of working with children with learning issues, and special needs. I am especially confident in my abilities to work with students who are ADD/ ADHD. During my time in Los Angeles, I worked specifically with these students.

Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity disorder is best described as a child's inability to focus and maintain attention.
For the past eight years, I have worked specifically with these children finding ways in which to make learning easier.

Dyslexia

Usually this is when a child sees letter, numbers, or even whole words reversed, backwards, or upside down.
For the past eight years, I have been working with these children and finding ways in which to make learning easier.

ISEE

The test used to enter secondary private schools; similar in nature to taking the SAT.
For the four years I worked in LA private schools, I prepared children for these tests by working on vocabulary, and general test taking skills.
