First thing first, my name is Katie. I'm sure many of the tutors on this site have 4.0 GPAs, or are very passionate about what they teach. I am the same way, but I have an attribute that they are missing. I am not only passionate about the world I teach about, I'm very passionate for the people in it. I have been tutoring college students in many courses (mostly Spanish) over the last 2 and a half years. Although I definitely enjoy Spanish, I enjoy teaching the students even more. I enjoy working through the frustration and the "pain" in order to see that light in their eyes when they finally understand the lesson. I take full pleasure in knowing the student received a better grade on the current test than he or she did on the previous one.
Aside from my passion, I'm very talented in all fields. My weaknesses are science and math above Algebra 1. My strengths include most of the humanities like English, History, and Spanish. I am a very good learner, so if your student is learning a topic that I don't remember or never learned, I can pick up on it quickly.
A little about me would probably make you more at ease about hiring me. I'm 21 years old (22 with in a month or so). I attend Anderson University and am on a break for financial reasons. I am double majoring in Criminal Justice and Spanish. For my Spanish major, I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain for 5 months. If you are interested, I'd love to tell you more about that experience. I've been on the Dean's list every semester (honor roll for college). Random fact about me is that I'm obsessed with penguins. My phone has a penguin cover which is quite cute if I say so myself. :) I have reliable transportation and am willing to travel if the pay can cover the gas plus still give me some profit (don't worry too much about that though as my car is pretty good with gas getting about 30mpg). Now that you know that nitty gritty detail of my car, I'm going to assume that I've told you most of what you need to know. If you need to know more, just ask me, I'm more than willing to answer.
