Hello there! I'm a drummer playing in a local band, and I am willing to give lessons to beginners. I played percussion in band in Junior High and High School, and a music major. I took music theory in high school and also had six years of piano lessons as a child, so I have some solid understanding of music in general and utilize that in my ability to apply techniques to drum playing.
That said, I'm not a 'by the book' drum teacher. My approach is designed around getting the student up to speed as quickly as possibly at being able to play basic beats, and learning good technique. I won't make my students spend lots of time working through boring exercises. We'll focus on practical skills at playing drum beats. The student may choose at some point to progress in their studies with a more conventional teacher. But my approach worked well for me when I first took drum set lessons - it kept my interest level up until I was hooked! So it works well with beginners exploring the drum set and deciding if they want to keep it up.
