My name is Mr. W., and I'm a certified high school Mathematics teacher in Gary, IN. I originally started my education experience as a math tutor at an after-school program and a church. I grew fond of helping people in breaking down the concepts of Mathematics, and I decided to expand my experience by earning my teaching certification to teach at secondary schools. While I have good experiences with teaching classes,

I always enjoy helping people one-to-one because each individual is unique and learn concepts in different ways. I previously and will continue to help my school on tutoring for Mathematics remediation for students who want to pass the ECA. With WyzAnt, I hope to be able to reach my desire to personally help more people that has not been able to catch up with the requires skills in Mathematics to improve their prospects in their lives.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have taught Algebra and Algebra II at several high schools, and I'm constantly working with a lot of students with material in Algebra. Since I am actively teaching High School Mathematics to students that may not have a proper foundation from their earlier Mathematics classes, I have experience in breaking down Mathematical problems and concepts that are often tested in standardized assessments. As a tutor and a teacher, I will do my best to answer all of the questions and correct all the misconceptions that my students have.
