I scored a 31 out of 36 on the ACT when I took it in high school, with my highest scores being in mathematics.

I also used the ACT's college readiness curriculum (Quality Core) for two years while teaching geometry. Therefore, I am very familiar with the ACT's style and rigor of questions.

Throughout my 10 years of tutoring experience, I have tutored many students in Algebra 1 material.

Most of my Algebra 1 tutoring was during the after school program at the school where I worked. I helped students with Algebra 1 homework and also helped prepare them for Indiana's Algebra 1 End of Course Assessment (ECA).

I also taught Algebra 1 remediation classes for 3 years for students who needed to pass the Algebra 1 ECA.

I taught an Algebra 2 class during my student teaching semester. I then taught Pre-Calculus for a year, which started off with a lot of review from Algebra 2. The following year I taught an Algebra 2 class.

In addition to the Algebra 2 classes I taught, I also tutored students in Algebra 2 in college and then as part of the after school program at the school where I worked.

I took AP Calculus as a senior in high school and then took Calculus 1 and 2 in college. I passed each Calculus class with an A.

During my student teaching semester, I taught an AP Calculus class for about a month.

I then taught AP Calculus for two years. This required having my course being authorized by the College Board.

I received an A in Geometry classes I took in high school and college. I taught Geometry during my student teaching semester and then for 3 years at the school I worked for. The Geometry curriculum changed each year, so I learned to teach the material in many different orders and using many different methods.

I tutored several high school students in Geometry while I was in college. I also tutored students who came in before and after school to get help on homework and study for tests.

I passed Pre-Calculus with an A in high school. I then taught Pre-Calculus for one year to high school students. This included one-on-one tutoring for students came in for help before or after school. I also reviewed many Pre-Calculus topics with the AP Calculus students I taught for 2 years.

I taught Geometry for 3 years and the curriculum included a basic trigonometry unit: trigonometric ratios, solving problems using trigonometry.

I taught AP Calculus for 2 years, which required much use of trigonometric graphs, equations, and the Unit Circle.

I taught Pre-Calculus for 1 year and the curriculum included a more advanced trigonometry unit: trigonometric equations, graphs, identities, inverses, and the Unit Circle.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
