Hello My name is Kathryn or Katie. I am an artist in the Indianapolis area and I really enjoy working with young artists. I am very good at working with students with learning disabilities as I have one myself and in college at Savannah College of Art
and Design have worked with students with LD through a program called Jumpstart. I have learned through my own education and through assisting others that artists have different learning styles from others so I will be sensitive to your needs. I also know what colleges and design companies are looking for in portfolios so I can assist you in building one too. I have also worked with young students at JCC camp and also B'nai B'rith Beber Camp.
I have a vast knowledge in Adobe Photoshop
and also Corel painter, even though I work digitally, I am excellent at markers, I also excel
in watercolor, pencils, inking and other media. If you or the intended person to tutor is interested in Manga or comics I can help with storytelling skills, drawing
in perspective, compositional skills, figure drawing, storyboarding for animation or television.
My major was Sequential Art which is a very big term for Visual Storytelling and Comics, however Sequential art also covers concept art for games/animation and storyboarding.
Another thing I have learned at SCAD is how to critique effectively. I know that your art is your soul and really dear to your heart, however the student needs to be prepared for constructive criticism and how to internalize, use it to improve, and know when to ignore someone who is just bashing your artwork.
I am very compassionate and love to see other people grow with their artwork.
Please allow me to be a part of you or your student's journey to grow and develop their talent.

I know a lot of artists multitask, however having more than music while "arting" can be a real hindrance in production and quality of your work
Posture, what is around you (for example if it is cluttered) and position of your table can really help the quality of your work.
I would suggest that you have your table clear of any distractions, if you are working digitally avoid...
