Currently, I am a graduate student at Butler University studying Creative Writing - Fiction. I take two classes a week that concentrate on writing and literature, as well as working for the literary magazine- Booth, designing and editing for Pressgang - the small press on campus, and tutoring reading and writing at one of the local High Schools.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. I graduated with a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in history, and a GPA of 3.689. Before that, I graduated from Plano Senior High School with a 3.545 in 2007. Though I have spent the past year working for Plano Independent School District as an AVID tutor focusing on college prep, English and History.

Over the past 7 years, I have taken multiple classes and seminars on teaching and tutoring. I was the Assistant Editor from 2011 - 2012 and the Editor-in-Chief from 2012 - 2013 of the Vortex Magazine of Literature and Fine Art at the University of Central Arkansas. My creative works have been published in Vortex 37, Vortex 38, Vortex 39, Revel @ Conway, and Polaris Magazine of Undergraduate Literature.

I love writing and history and want to help others learn to love it too! I am willing to work with students of all ages, but especially love working with a middle school, high school and college students.

I understand that everyone learns differently and sometimes it is just finding a way in which the person can retain the information. Whether it is helping someone with their homework or designing lesson plans to further help them learn the subject they are working on, I am prepared to help!

Right now I am tutoring in Indianapolis (and surrounding areas) for the 2014 - 2017 academic school years. I only take 3 to 6 students at a time so I can work with your schedule and make sure that every student gets the help they need.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I love working with young children. I worked as a nanny and tutor for 2nd to 5th graders for two years. I have the patience and creativity it takes to help your kid learn everything from science to writing!

Elementary Math

I have been working as an elementary tutor for the past 8 years in every subject. I particularly like working with younger children, because it's so much fun to watch them figure problems out for themselves. Specifically, I currently work with several elementary students on math, helping them homework and preparing for tests.

Elementary Science

I love working with children and watching them learn. It's always a joy to see them figure something out for themselves. I have been working with my brother (fourth grade) and helping him with his homework. I have also acted as a nanny for several families and taught their children. In the fourth grade I entered a city-wide Science-thon.
