B.A. in English and Political Science

M.A. in the Humanities from the University of Chicago
Currently teach English courses at Ivy Tech Community College. These courses have included introductory classes and those that have focused primarily on Technical Writing and Argumentative Writing.
Taught roughly twenty classes for the Institute of Reading
Development, where I encountered students as young as 4 and as old as 60. My time working with this great organization
gave me experience with a variety of students with equally varied needs, as some of them were struggling to learn to read while others were trying to improve their reading speed to help at work, for example.
Lead Coordinator for Volunteers in Teaching Adult Learners (ViTAL) at Monroe County Library for a year where I taught English Language
Learners who had only recently arrived in the country and were still working hard to master basic English skills.
I am a freelance writer, where I contributed articles on literary criticism.
Additionally, I have had internships with judges in Chicago's Chancery Division, the Senate Homeland Security Committee in Washington, D.C
. under Senator Lieberman, and with literary agencies in Chicago and Dublin, Ireland.
I am an avid reader with a deep knowledge of literature
from multiple countries (I have spent the last few years immersing myself in Russian
, and Japanese
literature in particular) and time periods. I also have played guitar
for twelve years and enjoy studying music
