I am a certified Language Arts teacher for grades 6 through 12. I graduated from Bethel College with honors in 2009. During college I had an on-campus job as a tutor for fellow students. Since graduation I have worked as a substitute teacher in the School City of Mishawaka and the Penn Harris Madison School Corporation. I am very passionate about English. I wish to instill the same love I have for reading and expression through writing in my students as I enjoy in my life. Beyond this I believe that strong writing skills and good reading comprehension are vital for college degrees and successful careers. My goal is to help build these talents in this next generation, the future leaders of our country.
I am a creative person who enjoys finding new ways to apply reading and writing to real life. I understand that everyone is unique and therefore learns in different ways. For this reason, tutoring provides a distinctive opportunity to work with a student individually, allowing the tutor to adapt any lesson to their particular method of learning. I believe a tutor should not only love what they teach but have the knowledge and ability to be flexible and to tailor their lesson to the needs of the student.
