Most recently I was lead tutor at Ivy Tech College in East Chicago, Indiana where I helped hundreds of students succeed. I was widely considered, by students, faculty and administration as the "best tutor ever." In that role I helped hundreds of students succeed in a wide variety of classes including College Algebra, Physics, English Composition, Public Speaking and ACT Compass testing. As one of six tutors in our office I performed over 40% of the tutoring. My clients were successful in their classes, particularly math.
Before that I worked for many years as Manager of Information Systems, Network Administrator and Business Manager. In each of those jobs I was responsible for training employees. Beyond those experiences I taught H & R Block's Tax Preparation class for several years, a sixteen week, 6 hours per week, class where new tax preparers learn the fundamentals of tax preparation. As a volunteer I taught and administered an extensive class in PC computing at the Salvation Army in northwest Indiana.
My approach to tutoring is to tailor it for each individual client and to focus on the fundamentals of the subject. I don't believe that learning should be an arduous task so I endeavor to make learning fun. Through dialog and interaction with you we can find the best way for you to succeed. Math is my specialty but I can help with most subjects, particularly with ACT or SAT preparation, Public Speaking, English Composition and History. I can help you! We'll have fun and you will succeed!
