Hi, I'm Jeremy! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I can help you or your student in a wide variety of academic areas, from grade school through university level, as my educational background and career experience have been very diverse.
I am a firm believer in adapting my teaching style to the needs of the learner. I strive to put the subject matter in terms that are easy to understand and to which the student can relate. I have done extensive public speaking and am a firm believer that the message must be adapted for the audience. In the classroom, I have taught students in both formal and informal settings, from grades 5 - 12 and even at the Bachelor level in recent years. I have also taught both within the United States and overseas, so connecting with students from different cultures is not a problem for me. I even speak Spanish fairly well!
While most of my teaching experience has been focused on high school and college, I have three children and am used to working with younger learners as well. I'm also a baseball coach for my son's team here in Brownsburg.
As for my education, I graduated from nearby Kokomo High School near the top of my class, from Olivet Nazarene University with magna cum laude honors, and received a master's degree (MBA) from the University of Kansas with a 3.8 GPA. I also have a master's certificate in project management from George Washington University. I love learning, love teaching, and enjoy helping students to succeed.
My most recent formal teaching experience has been at Olivet Nazarene University, where I was an adjunct professor of Finance and Statistics in their Bachelor of Business Administration program. I have taught the Kaplan GMAT preparation course in the past as well. Currently, I teach the high school Sunday School class at my church on the west side of Indianapolis.
Finally, I am a business professional and as such, serving my customers is my first priority. Although I am the "teacher", I ensure that the needs of the student are met to your satisfaction, not just that subject matter is delivered. To that end, my pledge to you is that I will be prompt, prepared, organized and patient with your student. I will focus on success while overcoming the challenges and together we will make this a positive experience for your student.
