My main goal is to make a session engaging and informative. Almost any subject can be enjoyable! I have various teaching and tutoring experience such as one-on-one private tutoring, teaching at an artist's studio, working as a field guide, and other education experience. I have been an honors student from elementary through high school and college. I remember what its like to be in school.

Since getting my bachelor's degree I have been teaching painting classes in several spots in the area, including the Thompson Park Center. I currently teach painting and drawing classes several times a week so I have a flexible schedule. Right now I am in between undergrad and graduate school and I am really enjoying what I do. I have a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, have studied abroad in Italy at the International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture, and have also taken classes at the New York Studio School as well as participating in the famed Drawing Marathon. Aside from teaching and tutoring I also exhibit my paintings on a regular basis throughout the area, for example at the Monmouth Museum and at several annual larger shows.

I have been successful in helping students with a wide variety of needs. From writing papers to ESL and grammar, to history, to computer basics. I work with students of all ages and levels.

There is no doubt in my mind that with my help your grades will rise and so will your confidence. After my sessions students get A's.

My subjects include English - language arts, reading, literature, grammar, writing skills and essay writing, spelling, general humanities - world history, art history, social sciences/studies, Russian, homework help. I also offer drawing and painting lessons in any media.

Before you commit to lessons, you are welcome to meet me so we can talk about your needs exactly. However, in order for me to meet you in person, as per WyzAnt policy, you must have your payment information on file. You are not required to commit to lessons if you have submitted payment information, it is just for security purposes. You will be charged only if and when a lesson takes place.

!!!
PLEASE NOTE: Your requested time slot is not guaranteed until you submit payment information to WyzAnt. If I am available during your requested time slot, that time will be "saved" for you ONLY when you express definite interest and submit your payment information to WyzAnt.

For example, if you want to meet with me and have a specific time and day in mind, but you do not have your payment information submitted to WyzAnt, someone who is asking for the same time and does have their information submitted, will be given priority. Please keep in mind that all payment information is securely stored and processed by WyzAnt. I only see a checkmark when a student has submitted payment information. That's when I proceed to exchange further contact information required for sessions to take place.

SO, once we decide on a time and day, please have your payment information submitted, so your time slot is reserved.

Remember, you are under NO OBLIGATION to start or continue lessons. You may change your mind and stop at any time.

Thank you!

I have tutored children in the past especially regrading homework and various writing assignments. I also teach children's painting classes. With children the right approach is very important, making a session engaging, informative and yet almost like a game.

English

English is one of my favorite subjects on any level. Middle school through college. I was an A+ student throughout school and have taken English honors classes in High School. We will work to make the session engaging and productive.

ESL/ESOL

I had the experience of moving to the US as a young girl with very little English. I was fortunate to have had a personal ESL tutor at my middle school who helped me through those first months. The knowledge and especially support have helped me immensely. I have been fluent in English for most of my life and now I am here to help you learn English and see what an exciting thing that can be.

General Computer

Many people today do not know how to use the computer beyond the basics (and basics too) and are scared to start. In middle school I got my first computer and was hooked immediately. It was like a whole new different world. Whether for business or for pleasure computers are indispensable today and are quite easy to learn. All you need is the right approach and some information. And I will help you get that.

Throughout school I have often been complemented on my knowledge of grammar and spelling. I help my student though any hangups and fears you may have about grammar and spelling.

Proofreading

Proofreading is an integral part of our lives. Whether you're working on a project or would like to better your skills, I am here to help with all your writing projects.

Russian

I am fluent in Russian, speaking, reading and writing. I was born there and that's where I spent my childhood. I don't have any official certifications because I was fluent already. I can definitely assist students wanting to study Russian, as I am equally competent in both Russian and English.

Study Skills

Study Skills are important not just for taking certified tests, but for every day school work too. When you approach studying and a subject the right way, work can get finished in less time. I will help you study, better and faster, while scoring better on tests. And that leaves more time for other things!

First lesson - A home run! I was amazed at how much Ekaterina helped me in my very first lesson. She is very professional and articulate. I first explained to her what I wanted to learn and she knew exactly how to teach me. It was a great one-on-one session. While I was on the computer and following her prompts she made notes that I could use on my own. Besides knowing her subject she is a very engaging person. I was very ...
