William’s qualifications in specific subjects below.
Algebra 1
Algebra 1 is the keystone subject for all math subject areas. The rules for algebra do not change over the span of other math topics. The two keys for success are learning/memorizing the rule and practice applying the rules on practice problems and problem types.
Success in this activity is success in all math that follows.
Algebra 2
Algebra 2 is the part of Algebra where one begins to apply the principles of Algebra 1 to a broader base of problems. These problems can be related to several fields of science and math. Algebra 2 is a skill building activity using the basic principles of algebra.
Computer Programming
I have studied computer programming as part of my undergraduate curriculum. While working in the engineering field I have preformed computer hardware design and diagnostic programming for control systems. A significant part of the computer design work is with the interface between the world and the processor, analog/digital. Currently my interest is with PIC microcontrollers and C++ software.
GED
It covers are reading understanding, math, government and other areas. Most of us have knowledge in the areas covered on the GED test. The purpose of a GED study is to fill in weak areas and expand the stronger areas. The combination of these two purposes is to insure that the test can be passed with a smaller amount of stress. One can think of this as a way to fill in the blanks in our knowledge base.
Geometry
Geometry is an interesting study of shapes. It has a long history going back to early times when it was the main tool people use for building. Today it forms part of the basis for surveying and shows how and why very large modern structures can exist. Geometry is governed by a set for rules that have not changed since the beginning of its use.
Physics
My engineering studies include physics, chemistry, mechanics, materials and electronics. This gives me broad understanding of the various topics and their interactions. As a result I am able to think about these items from many points of view and provide information and understanding for a new learner.
Precalculus
Pre calculus is a blend of algebra, trig, and geometry. In the world of electronics these three subject areas come into action on a regular basis. However, algebra and trig are the work horses for electronics. Geometry come into play in connection with many of the mechanical aspects for the physical implementation of electronic devices or equipment.
