I have taught in a public charter school for Pre-K to 4th grade in Washington, DC as well as worked for Kaplan Educational Test Prep and Administration Company as a teacher and promoted to Academic Manager; which gave me the responsibility of training and making sure that the teachers were kept up to date on material and assigning them to classes and following up with them by observing them in the classroom. I have a B.S. in Accounting and love to learn by reading and researching and graduated with 3.97 gpa out of 4.0 from Southeastern University located in Washington,DC. I value education and each child/adult should have every option to learn and if I can be one of those people to help a person achieve their educational goals than I would be more than happy to be of assistance.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught at a Charter School with the Pre-school through 4th graders and currently help w/ afterschool care of my daughter and her kindergarten and first grade friends. I also have taught Sunday school w/ children in the infant to Jr. High ranges. The earlier our children have and get help the easier education will be for them and they'll be more confident later on in school if they see that adults are there for them now, at the younger years.

Phonics

Phonics is something I take very seriously. Without learning how to pronounce letters and words correctly, reading will not come easily to a child learning to read. Once phonics are down, words are easier to put together. Studying takes skill and skill doesn't come to everyone in the same form or subject. In my research and experience I have honed my study skills by working as an Academics Manager at a nationally recognized elite test prep company. I have led students to better confidence and higher test scores.

Basketball

I started practicing basketball in the 4th grade and began team playing in the 5th grade. I played all through elementary, jr. high and high school. I played my first year in college and after that due to an injury only played in leagues with the YMCA and other local events. Now, I continue to practice and teach my 5 year old daughter.
