I honestly can easily get along with anyone, from newborns all the way to the elderly. I volunteered as a tutor all throughout my high school years. During my freshman years I would go to my middle school and help the Special Education teacher (a wonderful friend of mine) tutor her students a couple times per week. Sophomore year I moved away and in my new high school I right away told the AVID teacher I'd be willing to stay after school to tutor her students in algebra I, II and geometry and did so all the way until I graduated. For about a month I did do private paid math tutoring. Math comes extremely easy for me. I reached Calculus level math by my sophomore year but I must say I feel more comfortable with Algebra II and under. I can demonstrate problems by hand and through a graphic calculator.
I am also fluent in both Spanish (Puerto Rican) and English. I learned both languages at the same time growing up, which is the best time to learn multiple languages seeing as children's minds absorb and retain information much easier.
I am currently enrolled in college working on a nursing degree, with a mostly open schedule. I'm married with a baby on the way and moving to Zion, IL by August 2012.
I would prefer tutoring at my home. Mostly because it's a nice, comfortable setting, and I have plenty of computers for needed assistance, fast internet, and open living room and dining room for working. Approved by parent snacks/drinks will be provided and of course if the parent wishes to be present they are more than welcome. If parents cannot travel to my house or would really prefer me coming over that is acceptable as well.
