As a highly qualified teacher with 15 years experience in the public school setting I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with a wide variety of students with many styles of learning. I began my career as a teacher's assistant in a full-instructional learning disabilities classroom working with children with autism, learning disabilities, emotional disorders and attention deficit disorders. This love of teaching and learning led me to pursue a bachelor's degree in special education and a master's degree in curriculum and technology. I also have extensive training in the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading to children with dyslexia. I have experience in private tutoring in the subject areas of Wilson Reading System, reading comprehension, and language arts with children in grades 2 through 7. I am willing to travel south to Deerfield, west to Grayslake, and north to Racine, WI to meet with your child either in your home or at your local public library.
