I am a graduate of the College of Education from University of Iowa. I have a BA in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Language Arts and a minor in English. I am a certified Elementary Education teacher with an endorsement in Language Arts and a minor in English. I am certified to teach K-9 in the state of Illinois.

Phonics

As an elementary school teacher I am very familiar with lessons on phonics. I have a BA in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Language Arts and a minor in English.

Piano

I took piano lessons for 8 years. I still have my old books for lessons. I began with the basics, then played popular music (movie themes and songs on the radio) and ultimately learned to play classical piano.

Study Skills

I am an elementary school teacher with a certification in the states of Illinois and Iowa. I have a BA in elementary education with an endorsement in language arts and a minor in English. I grew up with learning disabilities and learned many different ways to successfully study and take notes from my tutors and mentors. Now as a teacher I have more experience actually teaching these skills to my students.

Track & Field

In high school I was a varsity cross country runner. I know a lot about training and race day practices. I am a school teacher now and would love to teach extra curricular subjects.

Voice (Music)

I am a classically trained singer, a soprano 1 vocally. I took choir all through school and sang at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Religion

I am a life long, devout Catholic. In college I took Judeo-Christian studies and learned about the Jewish and Christian religions. In college I also took Human Relations and learned about Islam. I still have my textbooks and notes as a resource. I also have taken multiple bible study classes with multiple churches based on where I have lived (I have lived in Iowa and Illinois.) I would be excellent in Christian studies, but can offer information about Judaism as well.

Bible Studies

I am a devout Roman Catholic. I have studied the bible and am a school teacher who has a BA in elementary education and a minor in English.

Photography

In high school I took Photography and did extremely well. Many of my photos were displayed in galleries. I can teach how to use old cameras, specifically I am advanced with the Cannon AE-1. I know how to teach how to use the modern, digital cameras as well. I can develop film using a dark room and can manipulate the pictures to have different tints, be in black and white or color. I specialize in black and white photography.

Public Speaking

I taught a college level rhetoric class at the University of Iowa.

ADD/ADHD

I am an adult with ADHD and work currently in special education. I know how difficult ADHD can be and I know skills that can be used to cope with this disorder. I am an elementary education teacher certified in grades K-9.

Ballet

I took ballet two years in high school and one year in college.

Praxis

As an elementary school teacher I had to take the Praxis exam to get into the University of Iowa and to gain my licensure. At that time a tutor helped me prepare for the exam. I used a number of study guides and practice exams to help me prepare for the exam and would have my student do the same. This past year to be certified in Illinois I had to retake portions of the Praxis and passed again. I am a certified teacher in the states of Iowa and Illinois.

Social Studies

I am an elementary school teacher and was certified at the University of Iowa, by their college of education, to teach social studies.
