I studied biology at Harvard (Ph.D., Neurobiology) and UC Irvine (undergraduate). I taught at California Baptist University as an Assistant Professor (Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, and Genetics). Prior to that, I taught Introductory and AP Biology at Phillips Exeter Academy, for four years. I recently relocated to the Chicago area and teach at National-Louis University and Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development. I have tutored college students and younger students for nearly twenty years in biology and other subjects, and ran a tutoring business for several years.
My teaching methods are student-centered, with the flexibility to accommodate a given students' abilities, preparation, and specific (realistic) goals. I would love to work with a student or a small group of students will similar level of preparation and goals, who is/are self-motivated to succeed and willing to work hard.
